Finding Ways To Make Music In a Crazy World

Hello friends, we know it's been a while since we've checked in. Like you, we're staying close to home and trying to keep ourselves and others safe. And like most musicians, we've had to cancel the in-person shows on our calendar over the last few months (and in the foreseeable future) due to the pandemic. That said, we're very excited to let you know about a show we'll be doing this month. On Friday, August 14th, Bobtown will be featured in this year's Philadelphia Folk Festival Online! We're always honored to participate in this historic Fest. You'll find us on your virtual "Front Porch" stage from 4:00 to 4:25 pm. (All the sets this year have been shortened, so try not to be late!) The organizers are offering a 1-day or 3-day ticket, and in case you're worried about sitting in front of a computer for 72 hours straight, they are also offering ongoing streaming of all performances at this year's fest for the entire week following (for ticket buyers only). Catch who you missed or revisit a favorite set! Check out the headliners, get more info or tickets to the Philadephia Folk Festival HERE.

Bobtown has been trying to spread some positivity into the world, and what better way to do that than via love? By that, we mean John Lennon's "Love." While still under partial lockdown, we broke out the old iPhone mics and found creative ways to deal with NYC street noise in order to record this shelter-in-place version of Mr. Lennon's sentimental love letter to his wife. Check it out HERE.

Lastly, the ladies of Bobtown performed in another quarantine song project back in April and May. We were thrilled to collaborate with the infamous "Chicks With Dip" on another uplifting song, "What A Wonderful World." (You may remember the Chicks' well-received Joni Mitchell "Blue" album from a few years back.) This was an all-female project down to the mixing and production, and we were honored to have WFUV's John Platt premiere the song/video on his "New Folk Initiative." It was a blast working with so many talented women, even if socially distanced. Watch/listen to the song HERE.

It is our sincere hope that you and those you love are healthy and staying spiritually positive. We are counting down the days till we can see your beautiful faces in person again. Till then,

xo
